It’s good to take a moment and reflect on what a great nation we live in. You only have to study history or other nations in the world right now to appreciate the unprecedented freedom we enjoy in the USA today. We each have a huge responsibility to uphold that freedom and ensure our founding principles continue untrampled. Yes, our country has its share of problems—what country or time period or human being doesn’t?—but with good will and good conscience we can and will work things out.

In the next couple of days, I’ll be posting my updated Virtual Bookstore. Only three years ago, I started out with one title—Summer of Love—and a total lack of expertise on how to build ebooks.

As of today, I’ve got twenty-five, beautifully formatted titles—twenty-five!—on each of eight retailers:, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Apple iTunes, Kobo, Sony, Libraries, and Diesel. The titles are also (in English) on each of Amazon’s nine domestic and foreign sites: the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and Japan.

The updated Virtual Bookstore will list US Kindle, Canada Kindle, UK Kindle, and Smashwords (which covers all those other devices). I’m hoping to include Apple iTunes, Kobo, and Sony, but if we can’t get them up this go round, we’ll get them up for another posting later this month.

The main thing is, we’ve got you covered!

As for the foreign Amazon links, we haven’t decided whether to clutter things up with another seven links that most people reading this probably won’t use. But we’ll see.

I’ve got two interviews coming up and three major new projects in the works, as well as two big backlist projects. The second half of 2013 will be as busy as the first!

Because of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and the core principle of free speech in this great nation, I as an author have the right to express any point of view I want to.

No, I never engage in hate speech or defame anyone.

But neither am I required to say one thing rather than another. You only have to study history or other nations of the world right now to fully realize just what a precious right that is. People in the past, people in other countries today were and are persecuted, imprisoned, or killed for expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Let us never take that right for granted.

I’ve often said here and elsewhere, my writerly obsessions are self-empowerment, especially of women, personal freedom, and justice.

Yes, I write fiction and yes, I write science fiction, fantasy, romance, and suspense.

Especially today, I think readers understand that beneath the gloss of entertainment, there is a serious underpinning of thought. After Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, George Orwell’s 1984, even Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games, readers may look to fiction, even genre fiction, for provocative ideas.

I invite you to sample some of mine.

So there you have it, my friends. As Patrick Henry said over two hundred years ago, “I may not agree with what you’re saying, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Stay tuned! The new Virtual Bookstore is coming!
